What a finding looks like

Photographed, named, and explained.

Five findings from Mark’s own inspections, captioned with what the photograph shows. This is the texture of every page in the report.

How to read it

Three things the report is for.

  1. What needs attention now

Items that need repair or replacement, each photographed, each with a plain recommendation, including where a specialist should take it further.

  2. What it will cost you later

The likely remaining life of the roof, the water heater, the heating and cooling. A roof that is sound today with three layers of shingle is a bigger job the day it is stripped. That goes in the report, so it goes in your budget.

  3. Then a call

Mark walks you through it: what actually matters, what to ask the seller for, and what can wait.

From a 2009 inspection

Hundreds of photographs are taken on the day, put in order, and the ones that show a problem best go into the report. These nine are from one inspection, completed in 2009.
